Welcome

On behalf of the children, staff and governors I am delighted to welcome you to The Academy at St James.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of this amazing school.  Choosing a school for your child is always a difficult decision – we hope that this website provides you with the information that you need to make the right choice for you and your child.

We want every individual who attends our school to achieve their best and always be themselves.  We believe that children who attend our school deserve the best. We ensure that personal development is at the heart of what we teach – we want our children to grow and flourish into active, responsible citizens.

Our aim is to help the children succeed by reaching their potential in every aspect of school life; academic, social, personal, physical and emotional. We have very high expectations of behaviour at The Academy at St James.

We are a Diocesan sponsored school with a predominantly Christian ethos, however, we actively support the development of all learners faith and spirituality, whatever faith, tradition or culture they might belong to.

Children, families and staff work in close partnership to create enriching learning opportunities in all areas of the curriculum. Our aim is to encourage children to develop the skills they need for later life, with a very strong focus on pupils embedding learning from the breadth of the curriculum into their long-term memory.

The Academy at St James Primary is an inclusive school where every single child matters and where children are valued for all their different strengths and qualities.
